Transgender Resource Comittee

As a subcommittee of the Chancellor’s Advisory Committee on Queer Issues (CACQI), the purpose of the Transgender Resource Committee is to act as a clearing house for resources which can support, assist, educate, and advocate for the transgender and gender nonconforming community at UC Merced. Our members consist of appointed students, faculty and staff dedicated to affirming the lived experiences of our gender nonconforming communities. Issues this committee addresses include but are not limited to:

  • Practices regarding transition
  • Name change
  • Gender marker change
  • Email changes
  • Trans and Gender nonconforming educations
  • Development of a virtual resource center

Queer Social Committee

The Queer Social Committee (QSC) works to create a welcoming and affirming campus climate for the LGBTQ+ and expanding community at UC Merced through positive social engagement. We host monthly gatherings, the Rainbow Lunch Series, specifically for our faculty, staff and post docs who identify as LGBTQ+ to ensure they have affirming space to build community, get to know each other, and find support through our monthly social interactions.

Additionally, every semester we host a gathering where our LGBTQ+ and Allies community can come together to celebrate, build relationships and learning about resources on campus. We are open to hosting other social opportunities but need the support of folks like you to assist with the planning.

If you are interested in joining the QSC, please submit your interest here.
